By using PublicWatch you agree to these terms. They exist to protect you, the people you report, and the patients who depend on public dental care.

1. About PublicWatch

  • PublicWatch is an independent citizen portal. It is not a government service and is not part of the Ministry of Health.
  • We pass verified reports to the authorities responsible for government dental surgeons. Those authorities decide what action to take.

2. Report honestly

  • Report only what you saw yourself or can support with evidence.
  • A report is an allegation, not proof. The dental surgeon has the right to a fair inquiry.
  • Knowingly giving false information to public officials is an offence under Sri Lankan law (Penal Code, section 180) and can lead to legal action against you. We may refuse or remove reports that appear false or malicious.

3. Photos and recordings

  • Photograph only the dental clinic area: an empty chair, a closed room, a queue, a wall clock or a notice board.
  • Do not photograph patients, their faces, medical records or computer screens, and do not record consultations.
  • Do not enter restricted areas or disturb hospital work. Follow staff instructions and put your safety first.

4. Do not name doctors on social media

  • Please do not post doctors' names, photos or allegations on Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok or anywhere else. It can harm an innocent person, may break the law (including the Online Safety Act, No. 9 of 2024) and platform rules, and could reveal who you are.
  • You are welcome to share the PublicWatch link so that others can report safely.

5. What we do with reports

  • Trained reviewers check every report. Verified reports are sent, marked confidential, only to offices with authority over the dental surgeon, such as the hospital, the Regional and Provincial Directors of Health Services and the Ministry of Health.
  • We never publish doctors' names. Public statistics show only totals, and small numbers are hidden so that no one can be identified.

6. Limits

  • PublicWatch is not for emergencies. Call 1990 for an ambulance.
  • We cannot promise any particular outcome, and nothing on this website is legal advice.
  • For bribery or corruption, you can also complain directly to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). Other official channels are listed on the Resources page.

7. Law and changes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
  • We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
